So taking an action like killing the #3 official in a nation needs to have a long term plan behind it because while we may be able to avoid a shooting war at the moment Soleimani will become a standard tHe theocrats in Iran can rally behind, strengthening the regimes hold on power.

If we are going to start a shooting war, like we did, then we need to have a shooting war because the effects in Iran of this killing will not be of any benefit to us.

Trump threatened 52 strikes if Iran retaliated, which they did, now he has to manage not following through on that threat.

That is unless he wanted to start a real war then this is the time to retaliate.

This guy is bigger in death than he was in life and he was Big in life. Don’t think Iran is some back water without succession planning. I’m sure his death will stall a lot of the short term agenda they were moving on but the mid range and long term strategy just got bigger due to this killing.

Congress lacks the constitutional authority to define or limit when a president feels he must take immediate action to fulfill his requirements to protect the country under the constitution.

Congress does not like what he does, they can try to impeach him.
