Iterative Refinement

The gatekeeper of the cave has let me out for a morning break. You appear Spyder, to be in “Run silent, Run deep” mode so I will make this brief (as opposed to the usual “Run noisy, Run shallow” effort).

A chart snippet then, from 9-24-08 with the blue soft rectangle surrounding 6 bars. The TRAVERSE SFC is bar 5 and my first question is, what have you called this signal? Some of the characteristics of bar 5 have been discussed previously http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=113310&perpage=6&pagenumber=1331. I notice further that it is not an OB. It has a HL, HH and HC compared to bar 4. Does it have to have a HH? If it didn’t (and was thus a SymP, FBP or FTP) would it then be a ‘contextual’ TRAVERSE SFC by virtue of its large black volume or would it still be a ‘whatever you have called it’ SFC?

Last point. Here http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=113310&perpage=6&pagenumber=1331 you asked Romanus, “Is the signal you see one of the five which an ES 5 minute Traverse level trader uses for change?” and shortly thereafter he responded, as did charts and R/R. FWIW here’s my list:
1. JW Type I – 3 bar Jokari
2. JW Type II – “2 bar” Jokari
3. Peak Volume
4. Pennant BO FBO
5. Bar 5 as described immediately above.

The gatekeeper’s meathead of an overseer has started clubbing me back into the cave and so with wishes to all for a day of favorable trade executions, I will sign off.

Yes I agree. However what bothers me is 11:10 made a lower low than than what we considered the point 1 bar (10:50). (i.e If we started an up sequence I wouldn't expect a lower low than we the point 1)

So I am trying to see if we missed something.
 
12:50 [close of] the little bugger that is black but colored red almost messed up the whole sequence. Talk about subtle differences! Unbelievable, simply amazing.

Getting to the horizontal orientation is so worthwhile. Upon arrival, when the short term memory of horizontal slips into a long term memory, first recourse, resource, then your whole being slips over into the support, comfort and confidence orientation from the possible anxiety, fear and anger of up and downness.

As in driving a car or the graceful black diamond slaloming or tacking into the wind while sailing, trading is done by moving from right to left in a beautiful context of building the mind unconsciously. We do not do driving as an up and down thing; trading is the same simply because experiencing working in an orderly way results in a differentiated mind. Knowledge and skills are being acquired and wedged into the right locations and being reinforced into permanent memory that becomes a first recourse.

As a corroberating image, this is my basic picture of building the mind. The percentages are so important to understand. And here is where the iterative refinement is done.

Nothing is being held back regarding the container that was built with the syllabus. It is scoped and bounded. Iterative refinement deepens understanding and is a measure of increased differentiation. It has always been important to assure no anomolies and to assure a logic based on certainty. Going from coarse to fine is how differentiaton in the mind is built. Anyone can recognize that it is always necessary to refine the fuzzy places and labor over what goes where and to also have the technique for bringing to play what is needed.

Often what you need is there (somewhere) and is made available in your thoughts comes as an unconscious recourse that has not been established consciously in your mind. It will be at some point.

The additional 500,000 hits after the syllabus of 2007 was closed, is a statement of the continuing mind power critical thinking people are appling to build their minds. In the end, what you sense merges along with your built in inference to give you your immediate and automatic preception.

It is truly anazing that the route to this comfort, support and confidence comes largely through the unconscious by purposeful work.
