On the snippet I posted, the third (dom) Traverse started on the 11:30 bar. The 11:45 bar increases the pace of this traverse.With increasing pace this traverse widens and becomes a channel making the 11:45 and 11:50 bars to the first leg (tape) of the new Traverse up. :) I hope this convolution of my brain makes sense.:)

When I suggested that 11:45 and 11:50 begin a new traverse, and 11:50 was a pt2, Spyder's response was "no". :(

Ahh yes, you got me. I recall his post saying there were no down traverses for the day. Perhaps this was a case of inadvertent fractal jumping

However, to the other post about differentiating between the three times, I did not yet have a pt3 established at the time those occured.

2 problem areas here:

1] Are traverses formed inside a lateral by definition on a lower fractal than those forming outside of one?

2] Once a pt3 traverse has been established (tape/lat/tape) lateral movement presents itself. 13:40-14:00 on 7/29. Do we set aside the fact that a pt3 has already been established, and avoid looking for change signals as we are only half way through completion of a new traverse? tape / lat / ???

Can you quote his actual response? I have the same thing you guys do. Perhaps it's not a 'new' traverse, as a fan (decelerated) traverse is considered the same traverse iirc. Just cant be sure...

By exclusion, yes. One of those was Peak Volume. 7/29 was not.

Er, I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to communicate here - whether you mean "it calculates to be peak volume, but it's really not due to Spyder saying one is and one isn't" or if you mean something else. Either way, on my chart, the volume for that time frame doesn't meet the criteria for peak volume. Since 07-29-08 doesn't meet the criteria for peak volume, that would mean it's the pace change chart...

So if you are trying to differentiate between two volume based definitions, where would a reasonable place be to start looking for those differences?

I am sorry. Case of low blood sugar. What I was trying to say is the Spydertrader's pic (BO of lateral movement) was Peak Volume and 7/29 11:45 eob was not.

EDIT: 7/29 11:45 eob has no Slope Acceleration
