Iterative Refinement

My hypothesis about differenciating pace increase and peak volume has to do with WHERE price came from. IOW- where in the gaussian cycle did the acceleration begin from. This is as far as I've got with the idea. If/when I get something more definite, I will share.

Er, I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to communicate here - whether you mean "it calculates to be peak volume, but it's really not due to Spyder saying one is and one isn't" or if you mean something else. Either way, on my chart, the volume for that time frame doesn't meet the criteria for peak volume. Since 07-29-08 doesn't meet the criteria for peak volume, that would mean it's the pace change chart...

[edit]
So if you are trying to differentiate between two volume based definitions, where would a reasonable place be to start looking for those differences?

Aurum is speaking to Romanus but I'll exsqueeze me between the two of them and note that this notion:

was proferred a little while back. I think it's reasonably close to whatup but I don't know how close. It is a place to start.

Cell1 to Cell 2 migration

The order of the cells and the placement of them on the chart seem to suggest that we are in some kind of very shallow down channel to me... Unless of course we skip some cells or go in a different order from here.

This unannotated snippet from this AM's YM (QT = bar time at the start of the bar) I think shows pace acceleration. IMO it doesn't matter that the slope of the Gaussian was negative prior to the jump but I await correction on this point. What matters is the blastoff of pace.

In this case there was a change in direction of price after the accelerated pace bar and I'm wondering whether this is a situaton where one can use the V/Vy doublet to pick up any change signal, albeit on a tape fractal (in this case with the YM as the instrument) and which for a traverse trader ... blah, blah.
