Iterative Refinement

3:24:14 YM closed OB on decr volume: enter LONG

Cool. You would've been in ahead of my entry. I wouldn't have thought of a decision to get long until the YM DU and then price started to tick up on increasing PRV the next bar. BUT, all the while knowing this is a possible pt 2 to point 3 retrace on the ES, I wasn't sure (watching it live) whether this was a place to think "hold short" from the ES FTT/Point 1 or to grab a few extra ticks going up on the point 2 to point 3 retrace.

If you look at my chart, I had a"questionable" channel right where price was bouncing off at this spot you mention, cnms2.

Spyder, thanks for the info.

@ ChkitOut

If I may suggest something, you would benefit much more from learning the concepts laid out in this and previous Journals and from understanding how to apply them. Then you will from looking at other peoples P/L or trade time stamps. It's up to anyone to choose how to go about it on his own, but to demand from others anything, it's just ridiculous. Just my 2c.

Sorry about the abbreviated chart Spydertrader as I was kind of overwhelmed by the extent of the prolonged lateral action and did not put the chart in perspective.

I saw the green channel coming off as a tape and had not discerned 3 points for annotation yet.

Probably my biggest bad is continuing to emphasize the white lateral lines but I thought they were a good indication of fall back support and/or resistance level.

I will also post 30-minute chart of BONT and maybe that will help display volume change.

Thanks for your help.

The intraday chart on BONT shows the change in volume from the protracted lateral to the last 2 days.

My thought was that I would have anticipated more intraday spikes if there was a real change imminent. Maybe I am just gunshy on this stock and am not making rational descisions..:(

Let's focus on a more recent phenomenon (See Daily Chart), rather than, the longer term trend. On 4-23-2008 Price headed higher breaking out of a Lateral Formation (4-18, 4-21 & 4-22) on increasing Volume. What must come next? What actually happened instead? What does such an event tell us? As a result of this signal, what happened thus far today.
