Iterative Refinement

Haroki, I had a slight difference on the daily charts plus the intraday chart looked pretty positive for me also. Some of the problem appears to be different color gaussians from QT or maybe I am reading incorrectly. As you can see from the daily charts and the intraday, volume appears to be up significantly.

I would certainly welcome any help that I can get.

The daily chart is attached and I will send my intraday on Asia by separate email

I agree with Haroki on ASIA but then again I'm probably wrong I was off on just about everything last week

You're not reading them correctly.

last day is lower low and lower high on inc volume = inc red. Plus it's a lower close.

It's a software issue. In Quotetracker (my package) I've set the volume bar to be colored by comparing it to yesterday's close. Yours appears to be colored by comparing it to the present days open. My price bar is black too BTW.

At any rate, to make the transition to using channels, volume, etc... you need to start looking at the low vs previous days low and high vs previous days high when you construct your gaus. Very important to be able to do it yourself since I haven't seen any charting package that will recognize a lower low and lower high (like in this case) and color both the volume bar and price bar red. Other times, you'll see the opposite situation - higher highs and higher lows and it's colored red.

I have attached a chart for ESEA and would welcome comments from anyone.

Hi chuy,
Here is my evaluation of ESEA. Your mileage may vary. :)
Good trading to you,

Thank you very much Haroki and gooch87, you both have been very helpful.

Haroki, my price bars are now exactly the same as yours and they agree with Chartscript 5.0 and my volume colors also correspond to 5.0 for ESEA. Appreciate your getting me back in sync.

ESEA is not in the current FU, but I keep a file of tenured Hershey stocks with rank (around 195 stocks currently) as Spyder (I believe) does and I frequently peruse chart setups. Not much else to do Friday when the sky was falling.

Gooch87, extremely insightful analysis of ESEA and I am grateful. I really like your correlating of the daily and intraday gaussians which I try to do, but fall far short of your work. The intraday and daily gaussians give a real heads when teamed together.

Hi Spyder ,

Its been a while since I've spoken to you via your forum or otherwise but I'm glad to see you remain 1 of this site's true STATESMEN.

REGARDS, cowpok1027
