Iterative Refinement

In regards to the sequence questions I was PM'd about:

See, you guys know the answers, I did not have to post them.

Great job on the visual, gooch.

Learned the proces, you have, Padawan. Great answers.

Gman, great job, the new pt3 down is one of the outcomes we would be looking for. Now think of the possible sequence that would follow a flaw with dec black.

Now for #5) Gman, running a bit ahead with step '3' - 'D'ecision, are we? :)
Staying on step 2 - 'A'nalysis, this IBGS represents 'change' somewhere during the formation of the bar. First we had inc red with price moving down (hold short), then DEC blk comes into the bar moving price up. Is this not change? What happens after the price starts moving up on dec blk? Price 'continues' to move up? On dec blk? So somewhere during the formation of this IBGS that turns into an OB we had change.
We will tackle step 3 - 'D'ecision, after step 1 and 2 are mastered.

I've been following SOHU since the example was posted and would like to make sure that we're "seeing" the right side of the market and annotating correctly. Chart attached. Thank you.

Here is my take. I view the up move over the last few days as a retrace. Wait for the BO of the current pennant to confirm the new direction. We currently see increasing red, so anticipate a resumption in the dominant down direction but as mentioned before need increasing red volume to confirm the down move on monday.

Quote from Avi 8:

Now take a look at your pt3 around 1230, is that a valid pt3 up?

Or are we still looking for a pt2 up after the FTT?

That's a really good catch. If starting with a 2 bar channel, you do get a volume increase and VE. But it's still only a tape at this point, not a channel. Still looking for point 2.

Spydertrader, again thank you very much for the knowledge and help that you have imparted. I was appreciative of your statement last week ..."I now only use Price and Volume (Channels and Gaussians) for Equities, but have left the Standard Indicators on my Equities Charts for those among us who still use them."

This remark was valuable to me because I was sometimes discouraged when waiting for the Sto to hit 80, because when it hits 80, the stock price is frequently at the top of its channel. Your position about utilizing price and volume/gaussians when making decisions coincides with my Hershey experiences with B2B and R2R as early indicators to anticipate price movement. Your statement makes me see the need to improve my understanding of the roles of price and gaussians for anticipating price movement. Sorry that I am so slow to learn.

Despite the collapse on Friday, I find a few stocks whose price and volume are intriguing, such as ASIA and ESEA, if I read the price action and gaussians correctly. I have attached a chart for ESEA and would welcome comments from anyone.

Stocks selected for following are based on daily charts plus consideration given to gaussians occurring during the last trading hour or so as Jack H has recommended as an early indicator of tomorrow's action. Thanks again.

Note - ESEA isn't in the FU anymore, according to my knowledge. But a quick glance at the PE shows 8, so it must have good earnings lately, price action regardless.

I note that you showed a dec black to inc black for the last 2 days. Note that Thursday had a lower low and a lower high, so that makes it dec RED, regardless of what your charting software colored that bar as. Always follow price action that way when writing your gaus, and not the charting software.

Personally, after about the 4th day when it becomes obvious we're in a lateral, I wouldn't be writing in dec/inc red , etc either, but as shown. Note that the volume bar is missing from this chart, but I have annotated anyways.

So for the BO to continue we need inc black, right? That'll be the decider.

Haroki, I had a slight difference on the daily charts plus the intraday chart looked pretty positive for me also. Some of the problem appears to be different color gaussians from QT or maybe I am reading incorrectly. As you can see from the daily charts and the intraday, volume appears to be up significantly.

I would certainly welcome any help that I can get.

The daily chart is attached and I will send my intraday on Asia by separate email
