My cynical side somewhat agrees w/below, though it contradicts your prior point. Roosevelt may not have known about Pearl Harbor but he had plenty of reason and affirmation by those closest to him in believing of impending attack from actions taken against Japan.

The world has many groups that serve as useful idiots for some other country, but Hamas has to be near the top of the list.

They are the useful idiots for Iran because they share the same goal as Iran which is to get the jews and the Christians out of "the Palestinian homeland."

Except the Iranians are Shiite (as is Hezbollah of course) but Hamas is Sunni- mortal enemies of the Shiites.

Any Hamas person in their right frigging mind who thinks that Iran has invested all of these decades in the conflict just to see a Sunni group take over Israel has their head up their arse. Hamas would be better off trying to get on the good side of Saudi Arabia which has growing influence in the region and with Israel but is also Sunni.
