Just to clear this up, Israeli intelligence (Mossad) has been superior to the US in the Middle East for a few decades now. We actually rely heavily on the Israelis for middle eastern comings and goings.
This tells us Hamas, Iran and Hezbollah have found ways around Israeli intelligence gathering and that not only speaks to failure we have witnessed the past few days but also to some blind spots that still exist and major potential trial threats.
