The point of consulting with congress is not that they have a lot of military experience. Most don't, and some of the ones who do are idiots. The point is that the Constitution demands it, as does sound public policy. Sending soldiers or planes to kill people in a foreign country should only be done after approval by congress, and it should be explicit approval, not some BS resolution or funding request.

that was a piss poor speech overall, but I was with him until the arm rebels in syria part. Guaranteed disaster. Even if we get rid of isis, should the assad regime fall, syria will become a breeding ground for jihadis.. armed with US weaponry and training.
