OK mr trader man, how often do you need to do 10 hour trips? I presume that it is more common in Europe for some reason even though one of the major selling points for many European cities are walkability.
If you are making a case against something by picking at the perimeter, then your core argument is weak.
Core argument: EVs are not useful because you can't do extreme things with them.
Observation: city slickers on the coasts are using Teslas and other EVs just fine. A lower middle class family I know has a EV that they charge in the carport every night.
I do this trip (1,300 km) average 22 times a year. I travel between my native country and the country where I live. I need my car in both countries as I take a lot of stuff with me. So taking a plane is no solution.
My point of view in the EV discussion is based on my needs. I also have a heavy right foot; I cannot drive at 80mph, I drive in Germany at 180-200 kmh. If I would do that with a Tesla I use 0.5 kwh per kilometer, so I would have to recharge every 200 kilometers (so 6-7 times).
