Is This The End Of Tesla ?

It is actually not Musk's fault. I mean it is his fault believing in bad economical principles and not knowing physics. But the main problem is this:

Batteries simply don't have enough energy (aka punch) for the modern world. Not yet. They are simply not economical. Nobody in the Western world makes EVs profitably. Maybe the Chinese can, with their cheap labor. Other carmakers make them because they can afford a loss just to be in compliance with states' laws. Tesla can't.

But basing a car factory in CA, making no research on just how much for they could sell them (35K promise, pulled out of his ass), mismanaging the company, no dealer's network, etc. Those are all capital mistakes. That is why Tesla will fail. It would have probably failed as a nieche luxury carmaker, but with the M3 massmarket bondogle, they are doomed.

C’mon. They are losing what, $2K per Model 3? You don’t think that Tesla can wring $10K in efficiencies?

my research shows 20% margin on each model 3 in last quarter. of course they net lose everywhere else. i'm not going to defend or attack the business model; just that my belief that EV's are vastly superior to ICE in every aspect which in turn benefits the end user. Tesla is just the face and driver of it all currently.

Is anyone seriously questioning EVs per se? The industry consensus seems to be that ICE sales will increase from (still) almost nothing now to market dominance by the 2040s, and ICE cars will start falling under national sales bans before then - hence the explosion of new EV models. That doesn't have much to do with the long or short case for TSLA now, either way.

The thing I personally object to is the notion that driving a large luxury EV like the Model S / X is an environmentally-conscious decision, or is somehow saving the earth, which would be fairly ludicrous even if grid generation wasn't >80% fossil fuels. If folks really want to save the earth, then ride an ebike or take public transport.

i'm clearly in the minority here on Tesla as a company and the ev impact/viability; its just not cool it seems. np; its not intuitive ..just like trading the vx curve into itself; lol

And grid power generation (to the 240V) is vastly less polluting that any ICE.

Imagine if they can clear $10K per car. What $5B, $6B per year?

The $920MM was paid in March. Tesla's can be issuing debt at an 8% coupon so they will do a secondary or a private placement with the Saudi dogs. Once completed the shares will hit $350.
