Right, that is their conclusion but the data don't match. 61% of infections in the elderly are breakthrough even though 85% of them are vaccinated. They are saying that vaccinated don't transmit, but they are using models and assumptions to do that.

As far as I could tell, there was no controlled experiment to figure this out.

The only hard facts in that paper I could see is that the vaccines are a minor help for the elderly.

Sure. But they are nowhere as effective as flu vaccines which are like single digit percentage breakthrough if I understand correctly.

I wonder if the vaccines are in fact creating selection pressure for new variants. The existing variants don't have to work hard to infect unvaccinated, but this is not true for vaccinated.

This type of mathematical gobbledygook will be used to justify an unvaccinated lockdown which is exactly where everyone said this was heading in the first place. I'm just sad that I lived in a "free country" when this happened.

Separate issue. This thread is about data claiming that unvaccinated are responsible for the spread and therefore should be locked down, because vaccinations don't work.

Correct, the vaccinated elderly who have the most negative outcomes are the ones least helped (proportionally) to the % of vaccinated. 61% of total admissions from a population of 85% of vaccinated should be much lower if they were effective.

My point is that I think the data are starting to show the vaccines don't seem to help the very people who are most at risk.

McNoob, there are 7.7 billion people in the world, there have been 7.4 billions vaccines given in 2021. The infection numbers are approximately on par between 2020 and 2021.

If this were an effective vaccine, there should only be a small trace of Covid left, but instead, the vaccines have had very little impact on the number. That should tell you everything you need to know about the 'vaccine'.
