I tend to agree, and I think its even worse. If a robot can really do many things that a traditional laborer would, then this takes even more money out of the "general" population. There will be nobody left to buy the products that robots can produce. The entire tax structure will have to change because as it is, I think its these top companies that are at the forefront of AI and Robotics that are actually paying the least amount of taxes. It doesn't matter how productive robots could become. How much a boost in GDP they may do, etc. The 1% will harness that, and you will still be stuck in the same lowering of standards since the US defaulted on its gold obligations.
Hence the reason why socialism is on the rise. Labor strikes will get worse over the coming years. In my opinion, we might even go back to the era of the Wobblies.I tend to agree, and I think its even worse. The main reason socialism is on the rise is because the young & dumb generation wasn't around to see the disasters of socialist countries. They never even witnessed the Berlin Wall, or saw the waves of immigration from everyone trying to escape socialist/communist countries. I remember those days very well as a child, as do boomers before me.
There is a myth that socialism is 'progressive' and that everyone will get 'free shit' and we will all live happily ever after. Unfortunately, it's always ended in disaster. And contrary to popular belief, Karl Marx wasn't the first person who thought up his communist manifesto. Communism has been tried long ago in history before his time, and always ended in disaster.
It's sort of like... Quantitative Easing. You think everything is great (for a very short while). Then it all goes to permanent shit.
