Is Newt A Viable Candidate?

Quote from Tsing Tao:

Ah, no need to be a pissy little man. The way you were talking about how the various states would vote, I thought you were a pollster or something.

lol, cute.

You were trying sarcasm, rather than intelligence. You got caught, now you're mad.:D

Quote from Free Thinker:

actually Romney is probably as clean as a republican gets. mormans for the most part are not like the so called "real christians" we see on the right. the morman families i have known, while deluded by their religion, are almost like the tv series "leave it to beaver" families of old.
they dont drink, smoke and seem to have well behaved kids and have very low divorce rates.

Romney is their only real shot. You know it, I know it, the GOP knows it.

Romney will be the guy.

Prollem is, they will have beat Mittens up so badly that he cannot win in the general election.

They are really trying not to bust him up, but the the disdain in the GOP base is palpable, and the defacto leader of the GOP has all but said that they don't like Mitt.

This is their conundrum.

Quote from RCG Trader:

You are not conservative, you are a redneck.
You are not a nurse, you're an enema technician.

This is Ron Paul's primary issue. People like you.
More stupid political commentary you know nothing about. I have more in common with Paul than any of the other candidates.

You are a little boy...
At 50 YO and 225 lbs? I don't think so.
You OTOH wear dreadlocks and skirts to work.

You are not the generational leader of your clan. It bugs you.
You stupidly presume too much, I don't want to lead anything.

Hey bro, I can present a license. Can you? lol.

50 yrs and 225? You had better be at least 6' 2" tall:D
And worse, you are still in high school, do you really think grown men say, "put em up"? Stupid redneck, lol.

U are a sad boy, get those daddy issues in order, son.

Yes I can, and it likely cost a lot more than your enema technician certificate.

5'11" and I'm more or less as over weight as you are.
...do you really think grown men say, "put em up"?
No, but then I never said that you Stupid bitch.

U are a sad boy, get those daddy issues in order, son.
What for, at his age he'll be dead soon. I figure we can work things out when I see him again - in Hell.

Grab a fork. Done! But hey, it's easy enough to see how a guy could forget a lousy mil and a half. Chump change for the great pharaohs.

URBANDALE, Iowa (AP) — Rising in national polls, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich found himself on the defensive Wednesday over huge payments he received over the past decade from the federally backed housing agency Freddie Mac.

Gingrich said he didn't remember exactly how much he was paid, but a former Freddie Mac official said it was at least $1.5 million for consulting contracts stretching from 1999 to 2007. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss a personnel matter.

Speaking with reporters in Iowa, Gingrich said he provided "strategic advice for a long period of time" after he resigned as House speaker following his party's losses in the 1998 elections. He defended Freddie Mac's role and said, "every American should be interested in expanding housing opportunities." Long unpopular among Republicans, the federally backed mortgage lender has become a focal point of anti-government sentiment because of the housing crisis.

Obama supporters are rejoicing in the republican circus. Even the politico's from the right, such as Steele, admit that this field has done nothing but help Obama.

I am not a fan of Obama, he has sold out in many cases. But, unless the right gets someone, anyone, he'll be around for 4 more years.

The only hope I can see is maybe Jeb Bush. Come on Jeb, help the rep's out.

Yeah, that's what we need, the rise of a de facto monarchy in this country, the Bush family. King Bush III.

Quote from AAAintheBeltway:

I think this is a big problem for Newt.

Also, Newt is not exactly the most likeable guy in the room. He's thin-skinned and takes things personally. Conservatives who win presidential elections tend to be likeable, not perpetually angry. Reagan, for example, even George W. Bush.

Compare that to McCain, an obvious prick. Bob Dole, in real life apparently a good guy but came across on TV as cold.

You can see Romney straining to project likeableness. Cain seems genuine because he exudes it. Perry, not so much.

You really nailed Newt. His problem is he is not likeable. You have to be likeable to be elected, Newt is plenty smart, but he isn't likeable.

Newt can't be elected, nor can Cain, nor can Huntsman, nor can that other guy, nor can Bachman, nor can Ron Paul (though he can really shake some folks up and get some real money!) but now take Oprah, now youv'e got a candidate! (likeable, TV savvy, rich, likeable, rich, well rich rich rich.)

Problem is she is gonna vote for the Obama guy. But that's only one vote. If she runs, she is elected. !!:D
