Is China actually bankrupt?

Quote from asiaprop:

maybe you want to review how much of trade is left to be done between China and the US, the percentages are dropping rapidly and already the US is not Chinas biggest trading partner anymore, its Europe and Asia.

You are, as usual, missing the point.

Get a grip buddy!!!

Cheers.

another one adding zero value... What is the point in case I miss it...?

Or is it that all you do is spreading your saliva...

If at some point you're ready to move on from juvenile name calling and baboonish chest pounding and have an actual conversation, let me know.

Until then...not worth my time.

Cheers.

;-) thank you referee... and your point on China is?

Guys, just ignore asiaprop, he is a waste of time. It really makes reading the threads a lot better once you put him on the ignore list.

asiaprop does seem a bit of a dick, or at the very least, very defensive about China's miracle economy.

I think I'll take your advice.

What you are failing to realize is that China's economic power comes from production, not design. As China's production industry becomes more mature and adopts things like environmental regulations, labor laws, etc. their costs are going to increase causing the value they passed along to foreign companies to evaporate. The clock on China is ticking and time is running out on the value advantage they provide.

Quote from asiaprop:

buddy, did you notice nobody here talks about where the design is coming from, this is all about manufacturing power. Why otherwise do you think China runs a trade surplus against the rest of the world. If you have a problem with that why wont you write a letter to your representative and ask him to bring the jobs back to your country ;-) This is a discussion about China's economic power not about a design study. If you have problems keeping those apart then maybe you should retreat from the discussion.

And the trade surplus can be attributed to the USD RMB peg only to a very small degree.

I think you should accept business is not a beauty contest. Do you think the national government is not aware of the environmental damage many of those factories pose? Of course they do but right now they try to raise economic living standards. Why is that extremely hard to understand for you?

To a lot of Americans, China is a scary black hole. You will be sucked in if you get near it. Staying away is more comfortable.

i fully agree with all your points below and never questioned them except that time is running out. The century has just begun, and this is China's centuries whether you like it or not. I am not Chinese, not Asian, yet I do not comprehend how someone cannot see this.

It's not that I don't -see- something: it's that I've heard this song before and know how it ends.
