how about capital punishment for blatant traitors ? people that give aid and comfort to the enemy, even going as far as aiding Sadam's propaganda effort ?

In 2001, Amnesty International (AI) reported that 3048 prisoners were known to have been executed in 31 countries and 5265 were sentenced to death in 69 countries. AI says the true figures are almost certainly higher. The AI figures included at least 2468 executions in China, 139 in Iran, 79 in Saudi Arabia and 66 in the United States:
these four countries accounted for 90% of all executions recorded by AI world-wide in 2001.
