Okay, but what about:
- Stoning for preaching or practicing a different religion?
- Stoning for breaking the sabbath?
- Stoning for stubborn and rebellious sons?

I taught about a God beyond the one that makes this world...one who blesses, but never curses. So I did not endorse the old Hebrew scriptures as a whole.
In this regard, Marcion witnesses to a very early understanding (AD 140) which was buried by an onslaught of penman who were claiming orthodoxy. The rift actually begins at the apostolic level, in which certain of my apostles stuck with the old scripture type god, while others went with the "Father" I spoke of.
The crowd favored a bodily resurrection theology. So this became orthodox. So the god who makes the body became orthodox. It was a popularity contest that had nothing to do with what I taught about the body. Ressurection is of the mind. This affects the body, but it is not for the body. The body is a symbol of a sleeping mind. It exists in dreams only. When the mind awakens, the body transforms and then disappears. It never existed. The mind that values a future for the body perpetuates the conditions of the dream. The dream is all about death. So the orthodoxy delivers death in a pretty package. It's orators and penman give substance to the term, "whitewashed tombs".
