IRS Targeted Donors To Tea Party Groups

You guys are all arguing tax policy, which is fine and just what the powers that be would prefer. The basic principle was explained decades ago by the Chairman of a tac writing commitee as "Don't tax me, don't tax thee, tax that fella behind the tree."

Fighting over the details of tax policy keeps lobbyists rich and happy.

Meanwhile, we have highly politicized IRS goons interfering in a presidential election and even trying to apply taxes the Supreme Court has previously knocked down, and no one seems to care. Obama and the democrats don't care because it was their thugs going after republicans and since when is that a problem. Republicans don't seem to care much either, which is far more troubling. In fact the only thing the republican leadership seems to care about is amnesty and rubberstamping obama's trade deals. Oh yeah, and trashing Trump because he is an embarrassment to republican candidates.

oh man, you are preaching to the choir. What do you think I have been bitching about? Not a dollar can change hands without the govenment taking a cut, just like a mafioso wise guy. It all goes back into the economy. That is not the problem. The problem is I am working hard to be productive, and I have to pay for the government and all their thugs who are nothing more than social parasites.

Dude, discussing anything with you is like talking to someone who has multiple personalities. Each response comes from a different "person".

Make up your mind whether you agree with me or not.

Well...he does converse with "himself" quite frequently...Note some of the threads where he might post a dozen times to "himself" with nary a reply...

ha ha, when was the last time you ever voted for a republican? They call themselves "Independent" and even register that way, but they never vote for a republican unless it is the sheriff or a judge who is a friend. You are what you vote for. That's why I laugh when I speak my ideas and shallow minded posters attack me and claim I am not a true libertarian. Well, I vote a straight libertarian ticket so that makes me the only really true Libertarian. If you want to know what a libertarian thinks, just ask me. I am the only one who doesn't chicken out at the last minute and vote republican because I think it is the lesser of two evils. And you could do the same if you would just vote your conscience instead of voting for your dying party.
Goldwater!. I wrote in Ellsberg in the Nixon Election! Pedaled as fast as I could to get home and watch the election returns, and they never even mentioned one vote for Daniel Ellsberg. I was pissed. I am free to vote my conscious in all Presidential elections in my current State because it is a heavily Republican State, so if I am voting for the Republican, why bother, if I'm voting for anyone else, why bother. Winner takes all here. Electors are not proportioned. I do vote in local and State elections were my vote actually counts.

You are not a Libertarian. We've gone through this before, with your support of the bailouts, desire for big government, etc.
Perhaps you should do some reading. I may be what you think you are.

By the way, while you're reading you might want to look up Bulgarian finance minister Simeon Djankov. You two think alike.

whatever, they can't target you unless there is some special tax treatment for your group. Take away the tax exemption for all and you take away the power of the IRS.

No, you're wrong again. They wanted to hit people with a gift tax for contributions they made to targeted groups. It has nothing to do with tax exempt or not. The Supreme Court ruled previously that contributing to these groups is a protected First Amendment activity and they can't impose a gift tax on you for giving them money, any more than they could if you bought a newspaper ad yourself. But the IRS thugs were pushing it anyway, but onoy against conservative donors. When congress got wind of it and pushed back, they backed off.

dream on. You just want a tax break if you give to a political party. Or a charity for that matter. Or pay interest on a mortgage, or produce ethonol, or breed alpacas. And you need a friendly politician to get these special breaks. The TEA party is just pissed because they weren't getting their special tax break because the crooked bribed polititicans weren't considering their influence when they wrote the crooked law.
