Iraq Vet Senator: I will not be lectured on the military by 'Cadet Bone Spurs'

Senator Tammy Duckworth of Illinois, who is a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel, savaged President Donald Trump on the Senate floor by referring to as a “draft dodger.”

The slam came up as a response to the president blaming Democrats like Duckworth for the federal government shutdown that went into action last night, specifically attacking them for “holding our Military hostage” due to the funding cut off.

However, the junior Illinois senator was not having any part of the president’s blame game.

As reported by The Hill, Duckworth stated the following on the Senate floor today:

“Does he even know that there are service members who are in harm’s way right now, watching him, looking for their commander in chief to show leadership, rather than [trying] to deflect blame? Or that his own Pentagon says that the short-term funding plans he seems intent on pushing is actually harmful to not just the military, but to our national security? … Sadly, this is something that the current occupant of the Oval Office does not seem to care to do — and I will not be lectured about what our military needs by a five-deferment draft dodger.”

Additionally, the senator came up with a brutal nickname for Trump.

“And I have a message for cadet bone spurs: If you cared about our military, you’d stop baiting Kim Jong Un into a war that could put 85,000 American troops, and millions of innocent civilians, in danger,” she said.

Duckworth also went after Trump on his communication method of choice, tweeting, “I will not be lectured about what our military needs by a five-deferment draft dodger.”

Five deferment Donny comes from a family of cowards, his grandpappy was also persona non grata in Germany for dodging compulsory service. Cowardice is hereditary, apparently.

Friedrich Trump, a German, was issued with the document in February 1905, and ordered to leave the kingdom of Bavaria within eight weeks as punishment for having failed to do mandatory military service and failing to give authorities notice of his departure to the US when he first emigrated in 1885.

Not one Trump male over 100+ years has ever served in the military. Not one - during WW1 or WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan. But he gets to lecture on military because he was a Dean at Trump University scam

So you support exile due to a paperwork issue yet support sanctuary cities.

That's a nice strawman there, when have I supported immigration of people who are running away from military duty? When have I supported descendants of an immigrant family lecturing others on military and service when they themselves have refused to serve their country in a 100 years?

Please provide examples.

While I appreciate Ms. Duckworth's military service, she is just wrong about almost everything.

No jail for non violent drug offenders? Supports gay marriage? Doesn't support intervention in Syria and Iraq? Doesn't want to force women to give birth?

A sickening woman indeed.

I prefer a broken windows approach.

What people do in their bedrooms is not my concern but I don't support gay marriage nor sibling marriages if that is the next step you may be contemplating.

Doesn't want to force women to give birth, doesn't want to give a child a chance either.

Indeed a sickening woman.

If what people do in their own privacy or with their own bodies is not your concern then what's the problem? Are you going to take care of the child after birth? You guys recently defunded child insurance and are going after welfare but bringing another child to suffer is a great accomplishment? All those countries where Trump is carpet bombing children - that's MAGA right? Or they don't matter because they are brown?

And what would a woman know about child birth anyway, you as a man are the expert on child bearing. Moral lecturing is great from the sidelines, the list of traditional family values republicans forcing woman to get abortion is evidence of that fact.

Are you going to take care of the child after birth? You guys recently defunded child insurance and are going after welfare but bringing another child to suffer is a great accomplishment? Maybe look at personal responsibilty before looking to find fault in what others are/aren't doing. Maybe? All those countries where Trump is carpet bombing children - that's MAGA right? Maybe look at their government as the root cause instead of blaming Trump. Maybe? Or they don't matter because they are brown?

The child bearing is not their issue, it is the raising of a child that scares the crap out of them. And yes, I have raised, along with my wife/their Mother, 2 successful children. Combined with 38 years of monogamous marriage to the same woman what would I know about life?

Tammy Duckworth never had an abortion and is raising a child without any assistance. Your generalization is disingenuous.

Just because she doesn't want to force women into giving birth using threat of government violence doesn't mean she herself is a failure. Giving birth and raising a child are life changing decisions, it's something people should be able to decide on their own and not based on circumstances. I find it ironic that Conservatives consider taxation 'stealing' - big government using threat of violence to take their money but forcing women to give birth to children who they don't give a shit about, who they will abandon from any assistance is somehow considered the moral position. Perhaps you haven't thought deeply about the issue rather than relying on religious brainwashing to arrive at easy conclusions. Even scriptures say nothing about abortion, in fact they are full of mass murder of children.
