what I see emerging now is a renewed and stronger allied Syria-Iraq-Iran-Afghanistan-Pakistan bloc. Allied as in having a common goal and hope for the future. The Shias, Sunnis and Jews all hate each other - that's nothing new.
I think all arabs want a better future and be left alone by the US. Call it a wild guess, if you want.

The Israeli leaders should do everything in their power to get Euro/US negotiations working. Making threats like they're doing today is only motivating Iran to stand their ground, and maybe even really start to consider making nuclear bombs to even out the power.

The very suggestion that Ahmedinejad would not dare to do something would imply that he is capable of being rational. If you listen to his speeches a little closer, you'll hear that he is not governed by fear. If Israel strikes first, a retaliation would be legit in the worlds eye, and if the US responds by annihilating Iran, it would be the definitive end of the US as an industrial superpower.

The Bible focuses on Gods Love through Forgiveness in Christ / love thee neighbor.
The Torah focuses on Gods forgiveness through deeds and acts / patience.
The Koran focuses on Gods anger through cleansing and justice.
Radical Muslims see themselves as Gods vehicle for this process.
This is a FUNDAMENTAL difference that makes all the difference.

Actually you Europeans look pretty silly right now. For years you've been smugly lecturing the US about the virtue of negotiations, for years you've been negotiating with Iran regarding their nuclear program. For years you've been whining about the importance of the UN and other international organizations, for years the UN/IAEA have been dealing with Iran trying to resolve the crisis.
Guess what, five years later Iran is five years closer to its first nuclear bomb. What do you Europeans, what does your beloved UN and your super-star Al-Baradei have to show for it? You know the answer, don't you - absolutely nothing. Iran is laughing in your face and playing you like a fiddle and you're too dumb, politically correct and spineless to even realize that.
Having said that I'd certainly prefer the situation to be resolved peacefully, I just don't hold my breath, it's quite obvious that Iran has made a strategic decision to proceed with their nuclear program no matter what. Well, perhaps it's not obvious to some America/Israel hating Europeans.
