War is hell. Hamas attacked and killed 1200 mostly Jewish civilians and took 250 hostages before Israel responded. They should have thought it before committing their murderous rampage.
Israel's response in unambiguous; Hamas will be entirely removed from Gaza, killed or on the run. Gaza was turned into a forward base of attack with tunnels crisscrossing the area and operational centers under hospitals and UN offices. Essentially, the entire Palestinian population of Gaza was hostage or supporters of Hamas.
That so many innocent civilian Palestinians died as a result of Israeli invasion is deplorable, particularly children. It's a heavy burden or war and isn't trivial. But Israeli soldiers do not seek out to kill children and women like Hamas did. Intent is the key word.
Tbh I never understood why USA and Russia decided to go against each other. Russia was our allies in so many wars. There is so much cultural and ancestral connections between the two nations. Half of Americans all have some kind of Russia heritage. And Russia too. Why did they want to go against the USA? USSR at the time already spanned across TWO continents. What more did they want? Why go against a country that you share so much bond with? And now you let other countries take advantage of the rift and both US and Russia end up getting damaged.
If I were USA and Russia, I would unite and dominate the world together. USA and Russia united together would be indomitable and unstoppable.
And civilians were given the chance and time to evacuate.
I totally agree that Israel's posturing in the Middle East is akin to a little bully with the biggest and meanest tough guy with him as protection. America must absolutely revise its military and other financial aid to Israel, to force it into an imperfect compromise with the Palestinians and the Muslim world in general.
While saying this, no one is foolish enough to believe anyone in the Middle East and larger Muslim world cares about the plight of the Palestinians. The real war is between Sunni and Shia Islam, and between Turks, Persian and Arabs all vying for leadership of the Middle East. Israel is the easy target keeping all of them focused on who is the true keeper of Islamic purity. "From the river to the sea" leaves no room for an imperfect compromise.
While college students and US Muslims protest Israel's Gaza invasion, none care one minute for the the internecine war in Yemen that has killed nearly 400,000 Muslims by either Yemeni or Saudi Muslims and happening at the same time.
From the fundamentalist crazies that butchered anyone not Muslim enough in the last decade, or the million Sunni and Shia Muslims killed in the 10 year long bloodbath of the 80s.... Muslims have butchered so many Muslims! Where's the outrage?
Well they kinda are, the way that they just kidnapped and killed innocent people and children, not as collateral damage but overtly as war targets. You can't blame the Israelis on that. Hamas themselves just demonstrated to the whole entire world why Israel needs to defend itself constantly because once they got complacent just this ONCE, this is what happens to them, innocent people who have nothing to do with war and I am sure some of the Israelis that they killed were probably sympathetic to the Palestinians. Not all Israelis today agree with the continued occupation of Palestine. Now Hamas just proved them wrong.
At the end I sympathize both the Israelis and the Palestinians as they are both victims of the war and it's really Hamas who's arsehole here, not Palestinians. And I am sure not all Palestinians support Hamas. They are just too scared or too weary to say anything. And now we are stuck with another war just like we are stuck with the Ukrainian war.

You've dug so many holes here on ET...so often. And now you've fled USA. Its really begining to be difficult to take anything you say seriously. I don't think Israel gains anything from your support here because you seem to have low conviction ..even in your own arguments and investments. I don't blame israel for trying to defend itself...but rather, the length to which they have gone. Its a shame someone with more depth and conviction would chime in and try to translate what your attempt is.

It amazes me how people pick a side in this like choosing a football team to support.
It also amazes me that theyll march the streets in support of their chosen team,clash physically with the opposing supporters and not see the irony in their human failing and the fact that their human behaviour is why we have war,tyrants,rebels etc etc to begin with.
It also also amazes me how everyone was expert on modern history,ancient history and foreign policy by the end of October 23.Many were expert by the 8th.
