Ipad 2

I see some news clips from time to time showing traders/businessmen inside NYSE walking around with some devices that looked like tablets of some sort. Didn't look like ipad. Does anybody know what they maybe using?

They're a combination of both. I know a few guys on the floor that initially got iPads that have switched to an HP Slate or are waiting on one of the new Dual Core tablets.

$800 starting price for base model is a little high and makes it hard to compete with the iPad's price points, which are rumored to be the same as current models, just as they have done with every successive iPhone rollout.

Curious about the Toshiba tablet whether or not it is tied to a cellular carrier like the previous Android tablets (another benefit of the iPad - you can either get a plain vanilla version or a cellular version and it is priced accordingly, whereas the Andoids only get cheaper if you sign up for a data contract - some of us only need/want the wifi version)

Nothing has yet to compete with the Asus Eee EP121 Slate yet.
 
I see pretty regular deals for "laptop" pcs with much better chips, ie processors than these gimmick netbooks. I've seen intel I-5 laptops for under $600 with 4-6 gigs of RAM for under $600. That is with a 12" - 15.6" screen. I don't get why you would piss away the same amount of money for a smaller screen, less computing power, etc. My older dual core laptop works for me when I go to soccer practice for the youngest, and I can actually read comfortably. When I want I can throw up charts to review on the weekend while I'm sitting at practices, but a 10" csreen, no thanks.
 
The problem with the ipad is the apps for trading...
Although trading is not a primary focus for most that will purchase a tablet, it is something to think about if trading is a reason for purchase.
Some trading apps are ok, others need work.
