Why in the world would anyone invest that much money and NOT use it? Seems to me that your friend was looking for a get-rich-quick scheme. Investing takes a lot of time and effort, even if you use tools to make the analysis easier.
For the record, I am not an Investools customer or associated with them in any way. I stumbled across their ad on TV and thought I'd check out what folks on the internet had to say. I probably won't invest the $3,000 to take the training since I do quite well with the system I've developed over the last 20 years.
Personally, I've never really understood why people would sell any system, whether it's how to make money in real estate, break the bank in Las Vegas, or how to get the most beautiful woman on Earth ... especially if the system works. I'd more than likely keep it to myself and continue to build my personal mound of money, rather than increase the number of potential competitors.
Now, before some of you go off the deep end, college educations are NOT in the same category as these "professional development" courses. I have a college degree because the people who controlled the job market when I was young demanded one.
The short answer is this - use your brain! Be wary of strangers claiming altruistic intentions, like helping YOU become rich, especially where money is concerned.
