Intel i7 6700K Trading Computer Setup

Hello Friends,

I am planning to go with the following setup, what is your recommendation, or what needs to be replaced.

Processor: Intel Core I7 - 6700K
MotherBoard: Asus Maximum VIII Extreme
SSD: 240 GB
HDD: 1 TB
Graphics: ASUS R9 390X or Asus GTX 980
Power: Toughpower DPS G 1050 W Platinum
Ram: 32 GB
Casing: Thermaltake - Core V71
Monitors: 4 or 6 monitor Option Setup.

What is your suggestion ?

Thank You

If you are building this yourself:

"Cooling device not included - Processor Only" You need to order one and get the thermal paste.

Overkill all around for trading. If you plan to game with the same machine, that's a different story.

You'll likely need 2 or 3 video cards.

What do you think may need to be down-graded. Actually i might play game on it.. or do some other things parallely. Currently i have like 15 chart windows opened up at same time, and in my Laptop setup, things slow down too much.

I agree. For most traders an i5 Quad core with 16 GB of ram is plenty. SSD drive is a good idea. The video card needs to match your set up.

Your laptop might be slowing down because of the internal video card or not enough RAM.

Do what rmorse suggested. Even 8GB of RAM is likely enough, but to be sure... check your Task Manager to see how much RAM is actually being used when all of your programs are loaded.

1. If you want to run 6 monitors, your mobo should have at least 3, PCIEx16 slots, but having a "high performance gaming" mobo isn't necessary. (Most mobos today have at least 2, x16 slots, but not all.) They don't all have to be "16-lane", you just need the proper mount.

2. If you get proper trading cards, you won't need such a large PSU. 600-700W would be more than enough.

3. For trading, you don't need powerful video cards. I happen to like Nvidia NVS 310/315, depending upon the connector you like to use.

A computer for gaming or video editing can benefit from having MUCH more horsepower than one for trading.

Please don't take offence, but you have been "building" a computer since 2013.

At some point, either take Scat's suggestion and purchase a Dell refurb or used machine with modest hardware or just bite the bullet and cut the check...

But you keep asking the same advice over and over...

Same goes for your 5-6 monitor thread and questions... google reviews, and buy it... or not...
