Looks like all over the world that has people spending more time indoors because of colder weather...they are now bringing back more restrictions to fight rising Covid cases even though Deaths have plateaued for many countries at low levels.

The problem is hospitalization is starting to rise in many countries a few weeks after rising infections...there seems to be the fear that rising Deaths are around the corner...thanks to Omicron.

Another way to view this...government public health agencies are trying to stay ahead of Omicron and be better prepared to minimize its impact on their country.

Sweden to reintroduce many COVID-19 measures as cases rise

STOCKHOLM, Dec 7 (Reuters) - Sweden will reintroduce a raft of measures to curb rising COVID-19 infections, urging renewed social distancing and the use of masks in public transportation, the government said on Tuesday.

"We see an increased spread of infection, but still from low levels," Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson told a news conference. "We need to work together to that the situation doesn't get worse, so today we are presenting further precautionary measures."

Cases in Sweden have started to rise in recent weeks after a relatively calm autumn. Hospitalizations and the number of patients requiring intensive care are still among the lowest per capita in Europe but have also started to creep up.

Of course this comes on top of the news from last Tuesday where many Covid restrictions were already re-introduced. Just read a few posts up the thread to see the details posted by wrbtrader. This week they are planning yet additional restrictions as cases rise.

Of course this is on top of the green pass requirements in Sweden for venue entry, etc.

I can't read anything by wrtrader. He has blocked me for some time now. I suspect its the same for others.
