In the Coronavirus Fight in Scandinavia, Sweden Stands Apart

If Sweden is the model country about how to deal with Covid, and Canada is supposedly not, how do the Deniers like John E. M. and Tsing Tao explain the following :

Canada : Deaths per million 802, Cases per million 65K
Sweden : Deaths per million 1504, Cases per million139K

And Sweden's geography lends itself more to containing a disease. Canada has a huge immigrant population and a lot of airplane traffic through it's main cities.

Check mate.

All that energy spent lecturing us on how Sweden has it all figured out and how the US should follow their example. What a load of horseshit. Better to follow Canada's example best you can it's a lot more similar situation anyways. Could have saved a lot of lives in the US instead of posting about Sweden and natural immunity.

---Some countries remain in the economic pits, while others are faring better than they were before the pandemic on almost every measure. Denmark, Norway and Sweden are all near the top, and America has also performed reasonably well. ----

All else equal, a big rise in government debt is worse than a small one, since it could indicate potentially larger tax rises and spending cuts in the future. Not every country has amassed enormous debts during the pandemic, even if America, Britain, Canada and others certainly have. Swedish public debt has risen by just six percentage points as a share of gdp. This is a reflection, perhaps, of the fact that the country largely avoided strict lockdowns, necessitating less fiscal support.----
