You will see there are new scary and typically misleading headlines about Sweden almost everyday with no new data or useful information.

Even GWBs headline today may not be a current fact based on GWBs favorite data. Sweden is doing better per capita.. I took today's data and Sweden is doing far better per Capita.
Eyeballing the chart the last 7 days... leads me to believe the headline is utter bullshit based on old data. (probably based on old data.)

And isn't the most important way to the view the stats right now... the trend?
Yeah.. .they have more exposures per capita because they are not locked down.
But, why is their trend going down at about the same pace as the locked down societies like ours?

"Sweden had 6.25 deaths per million inhabitants per day in a rolling seven day average between May 12 and May 19, according to Ourworldindata.org. That was the highest in Europe and just above the United Kingdom, which had 5.75 deaths per million."

I wonder if that is even a statistically significant difference give the way data is reported. As I said at Worldometer Sweden is doing better than the US this past week.

Sweden has not locked down. Wait to those countries come out of lockdown and then we can compare the rates. Right now we are comparing apples to oranges and surprisingly the rates are similar.

Do you understand the significance of this.
The doomers are trying everything they can to destroys Sweden's approach... and yet Sweden's trends are down... significantly without locking down?

If this continues do you understand how wrong it was to subject our people to this much harm?

A Swedish study found that just 7.3 percent of Stockholmers developed COVID-19 antibodies - in the area with the most COVID-19 cases. This is despite claims from Chief Epidemiologist Anders Tegnell back in March and April that over 20% of people in Stockholm would have antibodies by this time - as Swedish society developed "natural herd immunity". Of course, he is back-pedaling now on his earlier claims and attempted to frame the new data in a different light.

Andersson said her country is now seeing “a very deep economic crisis.” She also said the “deep downturn in the economy is happening faster than we expected.”

Marten Bjellerup, chief economist at the debt office in Stockholm, said he thinks Sweden will fare “somewhat better” than others, but acknowledged “the difference is marginal.”

The trade-reliant economy has been unable to withstand the global shock triggered by widespread lockdowns elsewhere.

“The economy will be constrained by the recovery in the rest of the continent given its dependence on external demand,” said David Oxley of Capital Economics.

About half Sweden’s GDP comes from exports, and some of its best known companies, such as Volvo Cars and Electrolux, have had to cut thousands of jobs as demand dries up.

For now, Sweden’s experiences suggest there might be few economic benefits to leaving an economy open during a pandemic.

Asked whether Sweden might see a quick rebound, Andersson, the finance minister, said “that doesn’t seem very likely at present. We expect a more drawn-out scenario.”

Amusing part is that you can go back and see Tegnell's projections for over 20% positive antibody positive tests in urban areas before the end of April. Now that his projections have entirely failed -- he is trying to soft pedal his complete failure as "being in line with their projections". Effectively he is trying to re-write history.

Yes... there are endless posts and threads showing Sweden and Tegnell claiming that Stockholm had already reached 20% immunity or greater back in April. Sadly jem can't seem to do a basic search for 2 minutes and find any of them, Instead he demands that the same obvious information be posted over and over again . Simply to aggravate people. Go do your own searches in the future.
