Association agreement is completely different from being member of EU. So Greek-scenario's are exluced till they would become a real member of the EU. And that is still a very long road to go.
From what I hear in Ukraine they don't want to be part of Europe, they want to keep their independance but have better and easier access tp Europe for doing business. They want to replace Russia by Europe.
They are afraid of the huge amount of rules they should follow. Since last year they have to pay taxes if their house or flat is bigger than ...m², they have to show a registration if they want to change money, there are additional taxes on their mobile phone for pension.....
A few years ago they lived more like the Greeks, no taxes, cheating as much as possible.... With the new government all this is changing. Ukrainians don't like to live by rules, and that's exactly what Europe is...a lot of rules and a lot to pay.
