In 2020, we will be even more furious than now

This almost guarantees that we will be here again in 2020

Nailfile Economics... lol ;) Some good points. As to the "craziness" of the unfair system where 62 have more wealth than half the global population. Apparently Buffet and Gates fixed that problem with over 157 of the global elite having now pledged to give away over 50% of their wealth (many are giving well over 50%) in their lifetimes or in their will. BUT they will do it in a structured manner of their choosing NOT via government programs which are frequent failures, particularly when "leaders" just throw money at them as a fix. I know that wasn't his larger point ie.. neither candidate has more than a nailfile to deal with the stampeding elephant'S' in the room. Agreed!

I still can't get away from the notion that "mostly" what Buffet earns is his and "mostly" what I earn is mine. It doesn't belong to the kid wanting free college and it's NOT the Feds. If I want to give to the Salvation Army to clothe, feed, and house the poor then I do so. If Buffet wants to do the same (on a far larger scale) he does so. But we choose to pull out our wallet instead of uncle Sam pick-pocketing us and lining bureaucratic pockets until our giving is only 20 cents on the dollar to our intended recipients.

Even if the Democrats take control of the Senate -- a strong possibility though not a certainty -- House Republicans could block Clinton’s agenda of taxing the wealthy to finance new spending plans; liberalizing immigration, and tightening gun controls....

You know, Schummer (assuming he gets the nod) can just pull a Reid and rewrite a bill that was already voted on, passed, and not yet signed into law.

Lawyers.

It will be a miracle if the Clinton machine is able to keep the coorporatist state at bay. I still believe they make these deals with the devil because they only have a hammer and have to work with nails. But they can institute laws that ends this charade once and for all.

I doubt any real change happens, hence this thread. But I hope I am wrong. The level of dysfunction and corruption is breathtaking. And don't kid yourself, consciously or not, the dysfunction extends to the ideals of the mainstream media.

Hillary Clinton speaks at the 2014 CGI annual meeting in New York.

It's possible that this Clinton Foundation memo—uncovered by the WikiLeaks dump of hacked emails—is already baked into the cake of this presidential race. But it certainly doesn't help the Clinton campaign, downballot Democrats, or the future of the Clinton Foundation itself. Per the Washington Post, "When top Bill Clinton aide Douglas Band wrote the memo, he was a central player at the Clinton Foundation and president of his own corporate consulting firm.

Over the course of 13 pages, he made a case that his multiple roles had served the interests of the Clinton family and its charity. In doing so, Band also detailed a circle of enrichment in which he raised money for the Clinton Foundation from top-tier corporations such as Dow Chemical and Coca-Cola that were clients of his firm, Teneo, while pressing many of those same donors to provide personal income to the former president." More: "The memo … lays out the aggressive strategy behind lining up the consulting contracts and paid speaking engagements for Bill Clinton that added tens of millions of dollars to the family's fortune, including during the years that Hillary Clinton led the State Department. It describes how Band helped run what he called 'Bill Clinton Inc.,' obtaining 'in-kind services for the President and his family—for personal travel, hospitality, vacation and the like.'"

The Clinton campaign will have to speak out, because the memo has been authenticated

What the memo makes clear is how inseparable the Clinton Foundation was to business interests. And while the Clinton campaign has refused to acknowledge the authenticity of the previous WikiLeaks emails, the company that Band co-founded—Teneo—did confirm the memo. And that puts extra pressure on Clinton and her campaign to speak out....
