the 20's boom period which was the peak of the industrial age was created out of cheap labor much of it illegal, nearly 1 of 4 workers were children, 1/2 were illegal aliens, god knows what kinds of diseased genetics they brought to the states. the master ate, the slave worked.. it all came crumbling down in the crash. and now great grandkids of the old immigrant generation both originally legal and illegal are coming out defending and fighting for their plumber, cop, construction and landscape jobs, which no wasp wanted to do in the glorious 20's.

The problem with America is that there isn't a perceived class system. All poor people think they aren't, and corporate America sells that thinking to them. Used to be if someone of that stature walked into a mercedes dealership, salesmen wouldn't even talk to them. Now it's creative financing. That, is the American dream for illegals. Immigrants flock to cities, not to countries. Poor Mexicans flock to Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Tijuana, AND to San Diego, Los Angeles, and wherever else there is work. Work being the operative word.
It's got nothing at all to do with whether or not some Mercedes salesman is going to give them the time of day, and it's got nothing to do with some social program they never heard of.
What they do hear of, through their grapevines, is where the work is, what that work is, and what it takes to get that work and to get at that work.
That's all they care about.
If the work disappears, as it has recently here in the US, they go back home and look for work there.
Very simple. The rest is anecdotes dressed up to look like it's got something to do with the real life being lived by folks at the absolute bottom looking for where their next meal is coming from.

a lot of them do pay welfare where a fake ss# is required and necessary/allowed to get the job,a friend had one for 12 years,the IRS called her and told her someone else was using her #,she innocently replied it wasn't really hers, after shiffing bricks for 2 weeks,they called her back and told her not to worry about,that was 10 years ago,she still uses it,the IRS will never give her a dime,but they don't mind collecting it

FAIR did a study. The cost of illegals is 100 Billion a year. And that's just balance sheet. What about the lost jobs for Americans? And the taxes that generates? Think about it.
