Havent read the entire thread, sorry....but have you tried Sierra Chart? Its rock solid stable.
Im with IB but you couldn't pay me to use that piece of crap TWS software.
Bit of a learning curve involved and 'support' can be sketchy (they basically tell you to go read the help file) but you wont find any better platform imo. It also comes free with some brokers, I pay for mine though. There are some Youtube videos on Sierra. Looks worthy of consideration.
I've been using MetaStock for years, but now have issues with them.
Been trying out IB's. Not bad, but nowhere as good as MetaStock. AND, won't run on secondary monitors. (At least the demo won't. Anyone know different?)
1st thing I need is data/charting ES/NQ with DOM trading.
2nd, charting other issues like stocks, etfs, indices, etc that will run on secondary monitors.
TIA.

TradeStation is the best I know of.
On related topic ...
I am looking for charting package that can plot volume chart.
I am currently using esignal and I'm keen to explore if there are other available options.
Sierrachart is so far ahead of whatever is in second place that's it's ridiculous. There is nothing it can't do if you learn to write C++ code.
Are you just playing your superiority card? Perhaps you could supply some info.Rubbish.
I have written all sorts of indicators. From the studies I can open another chart automatically, change the bar interval automatically, read the data from another chart, read the data from another study on the same chart, read the data on a study from another chart, set alarms, auto trade with quite a few brokers... Manually I can look at several charts on the screen, have the cursor track all of them or not, change the x and y scales with the mouse/keypad...
