If Obamacare is collapsing, why the EOs to destroy it.

The order weakens Obamacare in part by giving people more access to plans that do not cover essential health benefits
U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday made it easier for Americans to buy bare-bones health insurance plans, using his presidential powers to undermine Obamacare after fellow Republicans in Congress failed to repeal the 2010 law.

Mr. Trump signed an executive order aimed at letting small businesses band together across state lines to buy cheaper, less regulated health plans for their employees with fewer benefits.

It was Mr. Trump's most concrete step to undo Obamacare since he took office in January promising to dismantle Democratic former President Barack Obama's signature domestic policy achievement.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer accused Mr. Trump of "using a wrecking ball to single-handedly rip apart our healthcare system.”

“Having failed to repeal the law in Congress, the president is sabotaging the system,” Mr. Schumer said.

The House of Representatives in May passed Republican legislation to gut Obamacare. But attempts by Senate Republicans to repeal and replace Obamacare failed in July and September, in part because the proposed legislation would have caused millions of Americans to lose healthcare coverage.

Republicans call Obamacare, which extended health insurance to 20 million people, a government intrusion into Americans' healthcare, and have been promising for seven years to scrap it.

Mr. Trump's order weakens Obamacare in part by giving people more access to plans that do not cover essential health benefits such as maternity and newborn care, prescription drugs, and mental health and addiction treatment.

Obamacare, known formally as the Affordable Care Act, requires most small business and individual health plans to cover those benefits.

Trump “plans to cut off subsidy payments to insurers selling Obamacare coverage in his most aggressive move yet to undermine the health care law,” Politico reports.

“The subsidies, which are worth an estimated $7 billion this year and are paid out in monthly installments, may stop almost immediately since Congress hasn’t appropriated funding for the program.”

Sam Baker: “If Congress doesn’t step up and guarantee this funding, expect insurance companies to raise their premiums dramatically; leave at least some of the ACA’s marketplaces altogether; and potentially sue the administration for withholding payments the law says they’re supposed to receive.”

All that EO does is speed up the inevitable.
I guess I'll just have to settle for a policy that won't cover me getting pregnant.

Right, inevitable, have been hearing that for years.

If woman could pay for your erectile dysfunction, what's the problem with you paying for their pregnancy. Insurance is supposed to work where everyone pools together, if you just want to pay for your own stuff, why get insurance.

Exactly. People don’t understand undermining Obamacare weakens their own health care. Where do you think doctors and hospitals are going to make up for all the lost paying customers who are now going to be nonpaying customers, because they still need healthcare. It’s going to be people like Arnie and you and me in the form of higher premiums and copays and less service.

What’s even more ironic is this is going to hurt Trump country the worst. It’s the rural areas that are going to get smacked.

The worst part is a lot of these crossover voters voted for Trump because they couldn’t afford their Obamacare with premium assistance and he promised them better, cheaper healthcare. Let’s see how they like their healthcare when they have none.

You see, right wingers don't think long term, as long as the black or brown guy is getting fucked now, they are willing to take a fucking later.

ED is a disease. Pregnancy is a choice.
