I thought we were talking about Afghanistan in this thread.
We started with that, then you mentioned how since Tailban hates ISIS, Trump's move was justified except the same rationale was never used with the Iranians which logically leads to the conclusion that hatred of ISIS was not a factor in Trump's decision. It was purely a technical retreat and if Obama had done the same, he would have been called a terrorist Muslim sympathizer/weak on terror by Fox News and conservatives. But Cons have a different standard, Obama couldn't have done 10% of what Trump gets away with every day.
Well, I think its safe to say that both you and I are probably privy to 20% of the bigger picture here at best... so I'm gonna throw in the towel.
As I said.. I am sure Obama did his best in regards to what was best for our country and also what was best in minimizing the human suffering of innocents.
Its a f'n mess... no one can fix it. Shall we prognosticate the path Hillary would have pursued? There would be no solutions there either.
What I am saying is that a Democrat wouldn't have been able to do it regardless of their desire to pursue it, a Republican can have the Twin Towers go down on his watch and he would still be perceived as someone who 'kept the country safe' while the Democrat who killed the guy behind the attacks is seen as a Muslim sympathizer and weak on terror.

Trump was echoing sentiment that most of the base believes, he doesn't say anything because of his personal conviction but because others want to hear it. Hinting that Obama is a foreigner Muslim and is not uttering a phrase because of that conspiracy is what your base believes, I can quote multiple Con posters on this board saying exactly that.
