IB Suggestions & Improvements

I will not waste my time responding to your garbage, kiwi. Perhaps, slimetradey giving you a good old-fashioned reach-around would straighten you out, or maybe something as simple as Preparation H would help you.

LOL. Cscott, you keep revealing more of the true you. Funny how the high ground slipped away from under your feet the more we got to know you.

By your own definitions you're just another low life ... hoist by his own petard :)

Now if you'll just honour your word (sadly, I know your wounded ego will keep you attacking me with your foulness) and keep yourself and your slimey alter-nick quiet the thread can return to a calm and rational discussion of IB suggestions and improvements.

Following on from that, the lawns are edged, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and spring has sprung. And in this warm relaxed mood I'm going to give you all a free pass.

Slimtrady, I hope you now understand the interrupting another brokers thread to interject your own adverts is unwelcome. And thank you for achieving a new low in the battle of wits.

Cscott, I think you are finally realizing that when you have comms problems they're probably not IB's issue so its good to see this growth. Also good to see that you've come out of the closet and are no longer pretending to hold the high ground.

Trader_Herry, If customer support people treat you as dumb and you aren't then you should ask yourself why they are doing that. In everything in trading we take personal responsibility for the outcomes or we fail to live up to our best - and thats true of whether we come across as with it and capable or something less than that. Good luck.

So, in the interest of def being able to respond to real suggestions about IB services instead of our witty repartee I'm giving you guys a free pass. Feel free to have the last word and a good weekend. Cheers :)

LOL zdreg, I think the mods might leave it alone.

Slimey's really got that low brow artistic talent, and we've finally got to know Cscott much better by the friends with whom he hangs.

A great weekend to all and an excellent week ahead with IB's beneficent assistance. :)

Trader_Herry,

Yea, it looks like some yahoo at IB truncated people's suggestions if they included a URL. They must not have liked mine, because they hacked em up good! Couldn't even bother to leave the opening sentence. LOL

I think I'll wait to post any more suggestions. Anyway, I was mainly trying to suggest how to improve the sucky charts. Better charts will appeal to new customes more as an all-in-one solution; The more happy customers, the better for IB, and better for me...

Overall, the TWS poll is a good thing, and I'm sure will make IB even more responsive to customer demands.
I was looking back at the TWS feedback I posted a few years ago that collected the feedback on TWS bulletin board,
and IB has implemented much of it, so they really do listen to customer requets. (http://www.geocities.com/afleance/jtws_feedback.html)

I still don't understand why the messages have to be truncated if they include a link.

I think it is a bit unfair to you. You make very valid and detailed suggestions. However IB truncated all but one suggestion.

People are not going to vote for your suggestion if only link is provided. Most poeple don't bother to click on the link (not to say the link is not clickable, more extra efforts) to find out what you are suggesting.

If you can catch their attentions (eg by providing some descrptive texts), it helps a lot.

Dear IB,

I think that the new feature poll needs some clarification with respect to the following.

The poll allows each customer to assign a rating of from 1 to 5, to each proposal, with 1 being the least rating and 5 the strongest. Does a rating of 1 mean that I am very weakly in favor of the proposal, or does it mean that I am dead-set against it?

let's try to keep this thread going.....don't let IB rest on their laurels.......i'll suggest something simple......something I don't even need or want......but its kind of odd it doesn't exist......how bout a 10 minute chart?

Often I have many positions open and instead of putting a protective stop for each position I would rather put one stop for my portfolio, i.e., if account goes below $x close all positions.

Similarly, I would like to have a limit to close my portfolio, as in, knowing trees do not grow to the sky, if the portfolio goes up to $Y close my portfolio [and send money to Tahiti].

Is this presently possible?
If not, would IB implement this improvement please?
