IB improvements

"Don't know if this has been requested before, but it would be good if we could set audible alerts. It would be even better if we could specify our own wav or mp3 file to execute when a level is hit.

Maybe we could have it play the 'STAR-SPANGLED BANNER' every time an alert is hit! Def could you look into this??? Pretty Please. Oh, and if you could also program it to say something like "NO, don't make THAT trade stupid"...that would be a big help too!@

i have or will pass on the font issue (big ed, i use the same resolution as you. I choose veranda and 18 pts for the TWS). My account window is fine and I like the market depth small so it doesn't bother me. However, I do see the benefits of being able to resize them.

as for sound, i think it is on the todo/wish list.

This may not be the right place for this post but I need some help or better yet an understanding?

Under these new margin a/c rules IB requires that you wait until funds have settled even in cash accounts. Whats that about? Datek doesn't do that. In a cash account daytrades are allowed up to the available cash which is updated instantly. Why is IB so restrictive now?

the relative function was built in for basket trading. more info should be found in the manual.

IB is regulated by the NYSE, I believe DATEK is not. From what I understand, the NYSE interprets the update of real time buying power before settlement as providing margin and thus do not allow it for cash accounts.

also, got work that the pnl issue fleance mentioned is being worked on as well as the other issue of how lines get affected when the position updates.

I really like the P/L column. Great feature. Just what I needed.

Agree upon the font size issue for account window. Largest font in main window is still very workable on 17" on 1200x1600. The market depth is then just not readable anymore.

Also, the new account window has too much unnessecary empty space. It could be made more compact. It's a lot better resizable though.

On my screen the bid/ask for QQQ sometimes turn purple, I know it has a meaning for options, but I don't think it should happen with a stock. Anyone else having this on QQQ? I asked the rep in the chatbox but he had no idea.

I don't like the orders being placed in order of price automatically, can we have this as an optional thing please? I find it very disturbing.

Yes, I also find it very annoying that the orders auto-sort. Sometimes I have 5-6 orders on a stock and then I add another one and then I have to look to see where it was put. Sometimes I accidentially transmitted the wrong order.
 
I totally agree with the orders changing order automaticaly. It is a real pain - when an order is transmitted and then moves, it is no longer selected. If you want to modify it, you have to select it again.

I'm pretty sure the purple bid/ask means that the exchange with that price doesn't have the auto-execution on (usually amex in my experience).

Can you explain that? Is there a person in between then? Then why does it often only happen for either the ask or the bid and other times for both, and always for a short period of time (couple of mins). What implications could it have for traders?
