IB as a business client

if you want customer service find a firm that offers that even if the cons are a little higher. You will always be a small client at IB unless your AUM is north of 10mm. Even then I’m not sure the quality of the customer service.

Personally, I would go for service over lower comms. Trading is lonely enough; your broker shouldn’t be your enemy.

Me too, but as american you have options. As european I don't.
I want my long term investments as well as my trading to be in the same account i.e. being able to purchase european ETFs. Everything would be simpler if we could purchase US funds and you could purchase our fund products but regulations make things complicated.
So I need access to US und Euro markets for stocks and ETFs as well as access to futures markets.
Access to options would be nice too as well the Singapore exchange but I could live without that.

There is no broker nearly offering this at comparable rates.
I'd pay more for the service if the costs were a little higher.
Some are way more expensive and some don't offer portfolio margin.

I'd guess it is similar for asians. IB kind of has the monopoly for "advanced retail traders" that are not big enough to get a high end broker.

If you generate decent commissions, you will be classified as a key account so forming a business won't matter. Institutional accounts qualify for sales reps and access to our professional service desk. We have also put a great effort into improving service and training (not easy when you a global product set and clientele). Our metrics have improved dramatically, and clients will continue to see improvements as we incorporate AI as well as dedicated teams to specific areas like advisors and funds.

Of course though you can't compare us to other brokers as we do offer a global product with 1000's of more products than the typical firm - and the list keeps growing. For example, we are in the process of a soft launch on Taiwan stocks (you can sign up via account mgmt) and our overnight IBEOS US stock trading is starting to gain traction with excellent liquidity in a number of the ETFS and big-name stocks such as TSLA and AAPL.
