I want to bet the farm

Your opinion being that they see it as a place to enter or exit?

generally speaking they will look to take the other side of the retail entry at a trend line as an entry. this position will form part of their inventory which they will later exit for profit.

Don't fiOTE="romik, post: 4112233, member: 46309"]When I see this I want to bet the farm, do you? I believe this is one of those rare opportunities to make extraordinary amounts of capital on the back of worldwide buildup to increased volatility. I don't normally overcommit, but when price breaks that TL I want to bet the farm this time :)

Don't go to the woods if you are afraid of wolves! No risk, no champagne!

Don't fight the fed or you will lose your farm

Buy vix calls funded by selling vix puts. Buy vix calls funded by selling puts/call in another unrelated market. Cost zero but you better know how to hedge short options if market reverses.

I won't bet the farm, but I will increase position size to 10% once I see a confirmation in price. I will use a hard stop above ATH.

The only true way to be able to compete with pro traders is to use stops where they have theirs based on monthly lows/highs (horizontal TLs) of oscillations. This is my firm belief.

You can also anticipate the stop run and either let it happen, or preferably, enter there with them.

What's your stats on that strategy? IMO that's too hard and more random than not, again IMO.

I would rather sell when bigger players sell in hope of them (the ones in the know) starting their positioning and have stop outside the noise. If wrong, then there would be another opportunity sometime.

A hard stop above the ATH? you wont be the only one putting your stop there ;)

you do realise that the apex predators don't use a stop unless you count a phone call or personal visit from the risk manager as being a form of stop.
