No. Never.

Genetic algorithms will never work for a consistent long-term profit.

I have explained several times, in several posts of the last journal, that anything trying to "learn" from the market (and, therefore, from market-making algorithms), will never work (for long-term, consistent, profitability).

This also includes chasing "signals", "machine learning", "artificial intelligence", or any similar stuff.

You are very presumptuous. I never stated that it was for trading related algorithms or purposes. I only asked whether you wrote such library. Apparently not, different person.

This is mainly a trading forum. It does not seem exceedingly presumptuous to assume that the question was trading-related.

I answered your question. I am sorry that you think that answering your questions is presumptuous. Anyway, if you feel so, I apologize and I will avoid it in the future.

In addition, as a teacher, I believe that, while ideas can and must be shared, anyone has to write his own code. Do not really believe in open sourcing.
My students are always required to rewrite any library and never use directly anything done by others. It's probably the only time they will do that in their life. So ... :)

(As for myself, I never used a library in all my life in my own programs and always recreated everything from zero, whenever I needed it.)

I would never dream of saying to someone I just asked a question that he is "very presumptuous" if he grants me a reply. Evidently, we belong to different cultures. I guess this variety is what makes the world interesting :)
