I don't know whether Franken or Trump served in the military. If they didn't, they have no grounds whatsoever to deride anyone who served honorably. (Bergdhal apparently did NOT serve honorably... and deserves harsh criticism... and whatever else deserters/traitors deserve.)
For most of us who served in the military (non-career), we take a "time out"... put our life "on hold" for 2-6 years... to go do something we'd rather not, but for what we believe/hope to be for the good of the country as a whole. That effort does not deserve to be degraded by ANYONE!... especially those who didn't bother to serve! Every citizen in America benefits from those who serve in the military.
I'm a Trump fan, but he's off base on this one.
