How to track the "smart money"?

Are you serious? If COT was that informative, we'd all be rich by now.

BTW there's no precise way to decipher who the smart money is solely by looking at the COT, other than the "commercial", which is made up of Producer/Merchant/Processor/User and Swap Dealers. They're not exactly what you would call "smart money" IMO.

You are a dummy. You can't read a sentence at ET correctly. How the f**k are you going to be able to read COT? YOU couldn't take out a burger out of a takeout stand. Jut quit trading and go on unemployemnt and quit the charade

The extraordinary madness of crowds and their leaders

see ET's Overnight & vanzandt & theMickey & Nine_Ender. But Overnight is the KINGPIN.

“We find that whole communities suddenly fix their minds upon one object, and go mad in its pursuit; that millions of people become simultaneously impressed with one delusion, and run after it, till their attention is caught by some new folly more captivating than the first.”

This perspective is a paradox given you elevated DT in an earlier post. He would be the epitome of the "madness of crowds."

Not to go offtopic but there is ample visual evidence of this with the Jan6 insurrection.

Most that criticize this aspect are not calibrated to timeframes. Someone who trades as an intraday fast timeframe scalper, it's much less useful than a higher timeframe positional or swing trader.

Yes, spot on. :)

But I will add this: The larger perspective of the higher time frames is wher ethe power and juice resides. You ignore this at your own peril. The foundation is built on the monthly/weekly. The daily springboads off of this magnificent foundational strength.

99.9% of ET due to small timeframes are PREMATURE EJACULATORS.

And therein lies the problem. 99.9% of ET is so interiorized in these piddly ass small timeframes they have no clue of the larger picture. They are basically lambs to the slotter. Stupid sons of b*tches who get eaten silly-nilly.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to an ET poster. My mistake

Disagree here. Yes off topic. So very briefly ........... madness of DT's crowds? Yes. Madness of the DT haters? Yes. Hard to control such crowds.

Keeping the 2 crowds aside, there was nothing wrong with the Man himself. He made an excellent president, got a lot of stuff done.

Truth be spoken.

In defense of watching faster timeframes, it does give more opportunities to understand PA and to log some experience.

Experience builds discernment.

While we agree on your first statement, the second is where our opinions diverge.

Infinitely more so... Agreed. There is a saying that waves are fractals. I understood this intellectually until I started my Internship here at ET and started trading on the 5-min. timeframe. Lo and behold, the techniques that worked on monthly/weekly also worked here on 5-min. dramatic change to my overall method. Love it! But I do switch back and forth for perspective given I don't want multiple monitors :):D
