How to mitigate the risk of Metatrader becoming "illegal"?

What would follow actually?
Would any broker just blow up?

I bought over time a few Mt bots and developed my own and if Metatrader would shut down it would be a killer to my business.

If the brokers blow up it would be a kier to my business and the money. :/

Anyone here who is approaching these risks ?

Unless I missed something, why would they want to blow it up... the MT4 with the huge cache of EA's ( most of them losers) give the small retail trader the thrill of possibly making money, and pads the brokers bottom line ( they B book all trades below a certain number, and hedge net exposure if overexposed too much)

MetaQuotes gets paid a monthly fee from each server... its a good business

The reason would be simple: since Mt is not available in apple nor android anymore much less users (loosing retailers) have access to the brokers. The brokers earn less money.
At time point they might be loosing money if only profitable traders stay.
This would make a broker go out of business depending on how overexposed (dept, bills, staff, etc) the business is.

Also FCA (or similar) regulation might be rejected for brokers with MT ....

Metaquotes being a Russian company gets more and more problems because of it is origin. I could imagine they get banned totally (of course not worldwide) but in most powerful countries or regions like USA and EU, because of the actual war in Ukraine, as possible sanctions to make any kind of washing money or anything similar impossible. Also any control of finances from Russia is an anger actually. So it might only a matter of time. I would stick with cTrader. The better brokers offer those platform. With the options you have at cTrader I also could easily imagine that after migration you would never look back to Metatrader.

Why would Metatrader become illegal? Let me guess, makes too much money for its users? :)

Or some kind of Russian or Chinese ties or something?

They banned MT4 from the Apple store for "having Russian ties." I don’t think Android has done any such thing, though.
