How to make an Atheists head explode.

i would add that a designer does not presuppose omnipotence. every designer i have ever experienced had his limitations, good at some things and bad at others :(

Quote from OPTIONAL777:

Atheists have to work damn hard to maintain the denial of the obvious...

If it's so 'obvious' why can't a majority of humans agree on the issue.

You guys don't know anymore than the rest of us so you plug in 'God' to fill in the blanks. You need to face reality and admit that we do not know and we will never know the answer to the creation of the universe. There's nothing wrong with saying; "I don't know".

Do you understand what an a priori argument is?

Quote from killthesunshine:

I ask you repeatedly what would DIS-proof your belief?

You place your belief in your STOCK trades with a stop-loss...

what's your stop-loss in your God :D

why are you so afraid of this??????

A majority of humans do agree that God exists...

...how they define God, and what they define God as varies...

...but then so do most things depending upon the point of view:

John Godfrey Saxe's ( 1816-1887) version of the famous Indian legend,

It was six men of Indostan
To learning much inclined,
Who went to see the Elephant
(Though all of them were blind),
That each by observation
Might satisfy his mind.

The First approach'd the Elephant,
And happening to fall
Against his broad and sturdy side,
At once began to bawl:
"God bless me! but the Elephant
Is very like a wall!"

The Second, feeling of the tusk,
Cried, -"Ho! what have we here
So very round and smooth and sharp?
To me 'tis mighty clear
This wonder of an Elephant
Is very like a spear!"

The Third approached the animal,
And happening to take
The squirming trunk within his hands,
Thus boldly up and spake:
"I see," quoth he, "the Elephant
Is very like a snake!"

The Fourth reached out his eager hand,
And felt about the knee.
"What most this wondrous beast is like
Is mighty plain," quoth he,
"'Tis clear enough the Elephant
Is very like a tree!"

The Fifth, who chanced to touch the ear,
Said: "E'en the blindest man
Can tell what this resembles most;
Deny the fact who can,
This marvel of an Elephant
Is very like a fan!"

The Sixth no sooner had begun
About the beast to grope,
Then, seizing on the swinging tail
That fell within his scope,
"I see," quoth he, "the Elephant
Is very like a rope!"

And so these men of Indostan
Disputed loud and long,
Each in his own opinion
Exceeding stiff and strong,
Though each was partly in the right,
And all were in the wrong!

MORAL.

So oft in theologic wars,
The disputants, I ween,
Rail on in utter ignorance
Of what each other mean,
And prate about an Elephant
Not one of them has seen!

Even a blind man has a point of view on what he has never seen...

"The Universe is designed"

...yet the same atheists prattle about in fear that there is a designer named God...

"A drop of water designs, it is a designer."

So now a drop of water plans to design ripples...

Too funny...anthropomorphism applied to H2O...

Quote from stu:

Essentially, yes.

The Universe is designed - especially insofar as it is full of designs.

A drop of water designs, it is a designer. A perfectly natural design of ripples in water made by a wholly natural thing.
Wind is a designer too.

Super Nova Stars themselves create designs when they explode for instance. They are designers.
Black holes cause designs to occur as they suck in galaxies , stars and gases.

The completely natural movement of one thing against another creates natural designs. They are all designers. The Universe is full of design and designers
Non are seen to be intelligent or need to be so. A moving rock can cause a design in sand, or be designed by the sea. No intelligence required.

Only the make believe in Creationism turns the word design into meaning intelligent design and designer into "supernatural Creator"

Well I am not convinced a Creationist can be fair but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for now.
If you take care to look the "numbskull insult " , it was a question not an insult. I will therefore also withdraw the question.

But please bear in mind, your own remarks and tone regards Dawkins and those you call “atheists” have already surpassed the bounds of insult.

Quote from Lucrum:

The dead.

The rest of us can speculate, theorize, guess, ignore, refute, believe or disbelieve anything and everything we choose.

The debate over God, heaven, hell and the after life, if any, will still be there as one of life's greatest mysteries.

The good news: we will all find out the real truth some day.

The bad news: we're going to find out -

The Hard Way.

We are going to 'find out' but, unfortunately, we do not get to say to the theists; "I told you there was nothing after life on earth". We'll finally have the answer but won't exist to appreciate it.

We are going to 'find out' but,...
You should have stopped right there. Your comments after that point are simply an arrogant presumption that you know what no one else does.

My whole point was that despite all the individual beliefs, no one alive really truly knows. They only like to think they do.

Do you understand real proof of a comic book hero?

You are worse everyone knows they are fictitious just the comics :D

Most of my family, friends and acquantances are Christian: nothing would convince them to convert to Islam. I have a few Indian Hindu friends: nothing would convince them to convert to Christianity or Islam.

These people, and I would hope all people over the age of 30, are equally committed to their beliefs. I am no less certain of my atheist beliefs as you are of your beliefs or my Christian & Hindu friends are of theirs.

I have absolutely no memories of existing BEFORE I came into this world and have no evidence that I will continue to exist AFTER my body ceases to function.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't think so.
