How to make an Atheists head explode.

There is no supreme or lessor gods, there is only one God with infinite forms, which people wrongly identify as "gods."

No one of intelligence would confuse the president with a congressman, nor a senator with a secretary of state...nor should an intelligent person confuse the different parts or persons of a government with the whole government itself...

funny :D

the bottom line is you don't know any supreme god even the lesser ones..you are not privy anymore than I or anyone else. you have no proof than your obstinate refusal to accept your inevitable mortality. that's not proof, that's fear

you hit the life lottery, isn't that enough? you EXIST NOW, and your not a turtle or a amoeba isn't that enough? you, and I are human. At the top of the chain baby!! It doesn't get any better than this, just be thankful for what you got :D

fairytales are for children

That's an opinion but not proof. Do you realize that your opinion is both unproved and unprovable? how can you prove (to yourself or anyone else) the property of omnipotence? it is too slippery. that means you can never know for certainty that it is true.

Quote from OPTIONAL777:

I am driving at the point that all people who have the capacity of beliefs hold beliefs (despite their denial to the contrary). The genuine agnostic holds a belief that he can't form a belief.

However, if someone claims to hold a belief, it cannot be known if they actually hold the belief they claim to hold.

There is no proof.

So it is proven that real things, like beliefs, can and do exist without a way to prove that they actually do exist for any particular person...

So the genuine atheist, the genuine theist, and the genuine agnostic all hold beliefs that are beyond proof...

Why one would then believe their proof-less position is superior to another is illogical...

I think what you meant to formulate was, "the genuine agnostic holds a belief that can't be formed" ...(or proven)! You couldn't have been trying to substitute your belief for what someone else claims as a belief and authoritatively claim it was his belief all along. No, you don't get to do that. Agnostics do not hold that they can't form a belief, however much you might insist on describing that being what they believe. Agnosticism holds what could be called a meta-belief, in that their belief is that, its a mystery as to what the source of it all is though still claiming that there is some source.

"that means you can never know for certainty that it is true."

Since you can't know for certain that you are not dreaming at this moment, certainty of the kind you speak of is not possible, period.

Why don't you just stick with your no beef arguments longshot...

Why you try to delve into the deeper end of the pool you just end up drowning and crying for stu...

The genuine agnostic truly believes that he holds a true belief that a working belief in God cannot be formed and that God cannot be proven.

The opinion of the agnostic isn't even remotely a position that makes any sense once someone has the ability to form an idea of God...

...a true agnostic could speak for his own ignorance only...

...though a heartfelt admission of ignorance of God, coupled with a sincere desire for God is a great place to begin the search for God.

First you must define "dreaming". But your right that we must provide evidence to believe with certainty.. otherwise ANY assertion no matter how crazy is as valid as another.

How do you go about proving omnipotence? Omnipotence means anything is possible, and nothing is impossible.

What evidence can YOU think of that would shed doubt on the existence of such a God? What evidence for its NON-EXISTENCE would YOU accept?

My head explodes everytime I have to surf past a televangelist.
"Two of every animal" ??? ...and they honestly expect to be taken seriously.

No...two of every "kind" of animal. Not two of every animal. The animal with most most genetic information was the one that was taken on board and over time as it loses genetic information, it breeds into different types of the same species.

Its just so hard to understand how in this day & age with all we know about science how you can NOT believe in God. When you look under a microscope and see how advanced something as small as a cell is with all we know about it today (which is about 1000 times more than we did 20 years ago) how can a reasonable human being believe that "it just happened"
