I cannot see why someone has to offer their life for their conviction! But perhaps you get some comfort from the fact that there are indeed people who went to Bagdad to symbolically act as human shields.
Conversely, freealways, why don't you offer yourself as a guinea pig for the testing plants of "tactical nuclear weapons"? Rumsfeld will explode a little nuke half a mile away from your home, and surely almost nothing will happen to you.
France did something like that in the Mururoa Atoll, and remember how happy the Aussies were?

Are you telling me that history repeats itself? Was it Napoleon who said something along the following line "history repeats itself: the first time as a tragedy, the second time as a comedy"
If you try to compare Saddam Hussein with Hitler, try and think again. The German Army was in those days the most powerful army in the world. It took the British, Soviet and US forces a long time to bring it down. A whole world was fighting them, hence the term "World War"!
Reports from Iraq clearly indicate that whatever is left there is a troup of half-starved demoralised kids waiting to throw away their toy-guns.
So history repeating itself?
You should concentrate on trading whatever you are into, but leave historical studies to the profesionals

All they are interested in is the outcome so that they are freed from the persecution which is imposed on them.

frankly, i do not care who you trust. at the moment some untrustworthy and bloodthirsty American`idit´is telling the rest of the world how to behave [good vs. evil - if you´re not with us you´re against us etc.]. my friendly advice: take a dim view on American collaboration with the Nazis [the Bush family, Ford, GM, IBM et alii] before telling others whom to trust.
