These companies have EXPANDED their operations in Cary, NC to obtain access to a large pool of technical talent in the RTP area. These companies did not flee their original states, their headquarters and operations are still in their locations in California, NY, New England, the upper Midwest and Maryland.
Tech companies are closing down their operations in Kansas and fleeing the state.
You have Zero proof for that bold assertion other than ONE LONE COMPANY that took the free money to go just on the other side of the state line. Just like the move deals, the mmr vaccine, you resort to making shit up to prove your point.

Here is today's hint... the Tech Industry is a Knowledge Industry. Generally tech companies will only reside in locations that strongly support K-12 and university education.
Why? do you ask - because Tech Workers will not move their families to locations with poor education systems because they don't want their kids to grow up and be idiots with no future.
In other words, Tech companies are fleeing Kansas because they know it is a hopeless cause to try to convince tech talent to move there.

Iow, private money, people who are actually investing for a profit, are slowing down. Not expanding in tech. That's because there's a profit motive with private money. They do not expect that these tech investments will pay off, hence cut back.
So there is no great expansion going on right now.
On the other hand, you have the state of Missouri taking taxpayer money and throwing it at tech companies at the same time that this is going on. Does the state of Missouri have special investment expertise that the private markets do not and can see value where other can't?
Good grief. The answer is obviously hell no. They're throwing their citizens money away on deals that the private market is cutting back on.
That is what is called gov't idiocy.
Every week this year locally, we have new announcements of tech and pharma companies expanding in RTP. Our local start-up scene has hit it's highest level of funding ever.
You should not confuse start-up funding and the lack of big companies buying small tech firms in California with the health of the tech sector across the nation.

So the schools in Kansas are so underfunded that some districts may not even open this fall unless funding is restored to them from the state. However the state is broke for the last 11 months and has been borrowing money from reserve funds to make payments. Very sad that the leaders of the state cannot do basic fiscal math.

They were resoundingly defeated in primaries all over the country in the last six months. The tea partiers supported Trump and Cruz by an overwhelming margin. People who win by a wide margin cannot logically be referred to as the extremists in the party. They can rightly be referred to as the mainstream.
