That's what Trump says the whole purpose was. Truth is he'll fold and will have been responsible for tech shouldering billions in loss revenue so that he can gain some Pyrrhic victory in increased export of "lowtech" foodstuffs and commodities for red counties. The true unintended genius of this whole charade is that the market will end up paying for MAGA support/votes.

But as exGoper points out, the increased grain concession looks to be merely a facade.

How long has the trade war been going on? Has China stop stealing? Why would they stop stealing if they have economic leverage to respond in kind as they have been doing - and winning.

I dunno, I think Trump may be doing a 180 and may be starting to "get it", that the market loves China, and that's his report card; the market. If he's icing his China hawks, that may be the direction of the deal.

I've never seen exGOPer say that the China IP problem doesn't need dealing with, so that's not exactly a fair accusation. I've said it needs dealing; a frigging trade war isn't the way....I've also started questioning how much "stealing" is really going on, and how much is just fear mongering.

You recall the super micro chip story? Seems like there was never actual confirmation by the pros....which makes one wonder, if it's misinformation, who's feeding it?
