You have to wonder, why do the Republicans want to be in power?
I honestly don't know the answer. They have control of the House and Senate and they cave on everything.

If they have no opposition, anywhere, they'll finally have the balance of power they need to get things done!

That won't last for long. Municipalities charge sales tax on motor vehicles every time they change hands. Why? (1) Because they want the money, and (2) because they can. The fact that "tax has already been paid"... maybe 2-3 times before already, makes no diff to them.

There is very little that is "fair" in tax policy. Only thing that matters to the politicos... "Get the money". "By hook or by crook", is just fine. And if you can support an agenda, so much the better.

As part of implementing a consumption based tax, you'd have to alter that. Or, let it stand and watch people flee those municipalities like the do now over state taxes.

Any state with "fair" taxation would likely pick up immigrants.

What the Hell kind of property in Florida is Boner buying that he even needs a "special consideration loan"? Shouldn't he be able to pay cash? (Or hasn't he stolen enough yet??)

That's still sort-of possible. But with Federal Tax Policy dwarfing state taxes, the benefit of choosing a "tax-friendly state" is minimized.

Progressive income taxes, immoral as they are, will never be repealed. They are one of the major tools of government control.

Progressive income tax rates are the epitome of prejudice. "All men are created equal".... until it comes to taxes, that is. (And of course policies/favors to support a political agenda and buy votes.)
