How long is the intestines in our stomach?

I read somewhere that our intestines are over a mile long. But a few years ago there was this horrible accident where someone got hit by a car going down the freeway, and when the person was hit, their intestines shot out of their stomach like a roll of toilet paper. So the driver got out of the car, and took their intestines, rolled it back up and put it back in the persons stomach that he hit before the cops showed up.

I just don't get how our intestines can be over a mile long if the driver was easily able to roll it back into the victims stomach. That just really boggles my mind...

If you think the human intestine is 5,280 feet long, never mind multiples of that, I have a bridge to sell you. Stop reading fangoria pr0n.

Just as people have no concept of time, and things like really large numbers, people have no concept of area, or length.

Well why not? Otherwise our throats would be connected directly to our manure chute, and we would be pooping out the same thing we just got done eating a few seconds ago.

:) when the doctor took out 18 inches of mine, he said it was about 25 feet

There's no way our intestines are that short. If that were true then our manure would look like the same chewed up food that we just got done swallowing. 1 mile long seems pretty accurate
