How is that Wall coming along?

It's still a silly comment because the facts don't support it. He's pandering to a demographic with tried and true methods of xenophobia.

Like Hillary's comment about Trump supporters being deplorables was silly and stupid and not supported by facts.

There comes a point where the bottom line is you are discussing issues with people who lack common sense and are totally wrapped up in political themes. What can one really say to someone who believes the measure of Trump's success is whether he build a $21 Billion wall for symbolic purposes. I do wonder how many Americans will have their lives upended by Trump's trade policies and not even see it coming. And that national debt is likely to grow much bigger and become a problem akin to what Canada faced decades ago resulting in very high tax increases.

A certain part of me thinks Trump is kind of a "caveat empter" situation and any negative consequences are deserved by the Americans who voted him in. But the reality is almost half the populace never wanted Trump and most see the dangers. I feel for anyone who loses their job or their health care and they didn't even want this guy.

Did you seriously just bring up the national debt? The Trumps pompom boys have no problem with Trump's big spending plans and seem to have no problem with the debt that would be incurred.

In fact, if you look at Trump's business practices, a common theme seems to be borrowing a shitload of money and then not paying creditors back at the agreement upon terms. This sort of practice was taught in introductory level courses at Trump University, I am certain.

Except the implied context is that most illegals are causing additional crime and not just some minority; hence "some are good people".

Nuances. You can take anyone's statement at any time and pick it apart as much as you want to find whatever it is you are looking for, and you'll be successful.

If there is to be any mending of the rift, any return to sanity, we have to stop doing that and look to read what the candidate is trying to say - not what we are hoping he/she can say so we can get to the tearing down.

I'm sure this will go over your head, but the point of the wall is to stop the sort of mass invasion that has turned California into virtually a Mexican colony. Immigration policy can change with the next administration but they are not likely to tear down a wall.

Plenty of people had their lives upended by obamacare but no one in the media gave a crap. Obama more than doubled the national debt. He actually ran up more debt than all other president combined but again, no one gave a crap. A pliant Fed financed it with zero rates and by buying up government bonds, ie they monetized the debt.

So excuse me if I am not impressed by your parade of horribles. There are winners and losers from any policy change. When a dem is president, all we hear is how wonderful it all is. With a republican, all we get is a parade of baby seals about to be bludgeoned to death.

Language matters, those nuances are the difference from politically incorrect and bordering on bigotry. And it's exacerbated when the guy is too "alpha" to clarify or correct the statement.

We can afford a wall for Israel but not for the US? No wall, no reelection. Republican cucks in congress may secretly like that outcome but they will feel our wrath as well. No wall, no republicans.
